Privacy & cookies
Finchingfield.uk is an independent visitor guide. We collect very little: visit statistics from Google Analytics, and any email you choose to send us.

How we handle your information
Visit statistics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics only to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records things like the pages you view, your approximate location and the type of device and browser you use. Advertising features, including Google signals and ad personalisation, are switched off in our code. Google Analytics keeps this data for a limited period, set in our account.
Cookies
Google Analytics uses two cookies, _ga and
_ga_EH2CH4QGE4, to count visits. They can last up to
2 years from your last visit. We don’t use any other cookies, and
you can turn these off at any
time.
The village map
The interactive map on the home page and on the Map & parking page loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap (and from Esri if you switch to the satellite view). Like any web request, these receive your IP address so they can send the map images to your browser. The map software and the site’s fonts are served from this website itself.
If you email us
If you email us, we use your message only to reply to you, and we don’t keep it for longer than we need to.
Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it: just email us. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) (opens in new tab).
Turn off analytics
Turning analytics off stops Google Analytics in this browser straight away and deletes its two cookies. We remember your choice with a small setting saved in your browser, so you’ll need to turn it off again on another device or browser, or if you clear your browsing data. You can turn it back on with the same button.
